As an HR & Payroll Specialist, you will play a key role in managing payroll processes, compliance activities, and employee support functions for South Korea. Your expertise in payroll operations, labor laws, and compliance regulations will ensure seamless service delivery while maintaining alignment with global and local standards.

Your role in a nutshell

As our HR & Payroll Specialist, you will oversee payroll processing, compliance management, and coordination between internal teams and external stakeholders. You will act as a subject matter expert, ensuring accurate payroll execution while supporting labor law compliance and regulatory documentation.

Core Responsibilities

  • Handle local support activities, including documentation, approvals, and submissions to relevant authorities.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with Korean labor laws and regulations.
  • Provide payroll process knowledge, including validations and calculation logic.
  • Coordinate resolution of compliance issues in collaboration with local compliance teams.
  • Monitor adherence to global and local health & safety regulations.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between Neeyamo and clients for coordination, communication, and issue resolution.
  • Work with process owners to address case resolutions and clarify payroll-related matters.
  • Keep the operations team updated on statutory and legislative changes that impact payroll processes.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance service delivery and improve payroll operations.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, handling escalations and ensuring appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Manage salary and pension-related processes for Japan and Korea Payroll in coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide translation support between Japanese and Korean for payroll-related documents and communications.
  • Ensure accurate payroll processing for Japan, collaborating with relevant teams.
  • Liaise with labor lawyers to ensure compliance and labor law coordination.
  • Address and resolve system-related issues by engaging with Japanese authorities.
  • Support year-end tax and fixed bonus processing.

Experience and Skills

Expectations:

  • Prior experience in a corporate HR/payroll role is preferred.
  • Strong professional behavior, upholding company policies and guidelines.
  • Ability to work independently, managing multiple tasks efficiently.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering excellence.

Qualification and Skills:

  • University/college degree in HR, Payroll, or a related field.
  • Strong comprehension skills and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Fluency in English, Korean, and Japanese.
  • Experience in HR, payroll processing, and labor law compliance.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively between internal teams and external stakeholders.
